Cranial Sacral for the Whole Family

By Dr. Megan Golani

Cranial Sacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle and effective bodywork therapy that is helpful for all ages. It uses light pressure to the cranium and other areas of the body to balance the cranial sacral rhythm. It works to address the underlying causes of pain and stress that can impact the whole body function. It can ease pain and reduce stress by bringing balance and release to the physical body and emotional dysfunction. During a typical session the patient will stand and lay down, fully clothed, on a massage table while I place my hands at different locations on the body. It is not uncommon to have my patients fall asleep during a session and report a feeling of calm that remains after the therapy is completed.

CST is also very effective for infants and children. The treatment can be performed while your child is being held or during light play–they do not need to be stationary. CST can minimize many consequences of a difficult birth and provide optimal healthcare for babies. It works wonders for colicky and fussy babies and can improve breastfeeding and digestion issues. CST should also be used periodically throughout childhood to further support growth and development.

If you are interested in this therapy please come in for a free 15-minute appointment to discuss how CST can support your healthcare.
